12/21/2023 0 Comments Sylens horizon zero dawnAt one point we actually had the sculptor, where you could actually have a conversation with them. There was a lot of back and forth about that statue it went through many versions. GR: There’s such an awkwardness when she returns to Meridian in Forbidden West and realizes they’ve built a statue of her too. And as Annie said, a lot of that has to do with comparing yourself to her genetic mother figure. And, you know, she needs to get out there and get the job done. And really, there’s a ticking clock that’s in the background. And there’s been a pretty big difference between the first one at Mother’s Heart where she was completely unwanted in a lot of ways, and this one where she’s like the guest of honor.īut she alone in that entire group knows that her job is only half done. Because if you think about it, first of all, it’s only the second party she’s ever attended. So really, going into the start of the story, it’s been six months of her trying to find a solution and feeling that pressure to live up to Elisabet’s legacy.īen McCaw: If I can add to that: If you imagine the night that Aloy succeeded in defeating Hades – she’s at Meridian, and there’s this huge party going on. And so, with the Blight spreading and the world falling apart around her, she has this constant reminder that she needs to find a way to permanently fix the biosphere and find a way to heal the world. ![]() And while that answered that question, and brought some comfort to her, it also now puts this burden on her of trying to live up to Elisabet’s example.Īloy accomplished great things at the end of Zero Dawn – she stopped an apocalypse from happening – but she knows that her mission is only half complete. And she found that out – she learned she’s a clone of one of the most brilliant women scientists of the 21st century. In Horizon Zero Dawn, she wanted to know the origins of her birth and who her mother was. How important was it to make her quite unapproachable and isolated?Īnnie Kitain: One thing that we really wanted to focus on, going into telling the next chapter of Aloy’s story, is the pressure she’s now feeling. Clearly something’s happened in those six months where she’s just completely withdrawn from the world. Those opening hours with Aloy, she’s almost aggressively independent. GamesRadar: I think it’s probably easier if we start at the beginning. Of course, if you haven’t finished the game or are worried about Horizon Forbidden West spoilers this is your last chance to get out, so don’t read on unless you’ve seen the Horizon Forbidden West ending for yourself. With players now experiencing for themselves just how Aloy – and her friends – work to repair the biosphere, I spoke with Ben McCaw, narrative director, and Annie Kitain, senior writer, from Guerrilla Games about Aloy’s journey, her companions, and the revelations that she makes over the course of the game. The key to any good broth is to get rid of the impurities. Tips on how to make the perfect chicken congee Scooping out impurities is the key to a clear, clean broth Top with green onions, cilantro, fried shallots, shredded chicken, a few drops of chilli oil, and pepper to taste. Once the rice is done, assemble your bowls of congee! Add a few spoonfuls of congee to a bowl. Make sure to stir every once in awhile, so the rice at the bottom doesn’t burn. Simmer for 1 hour on medium low until the rice is mushy. Add 10 cups of stock and bring to a boil. Sauté the rice, minced garlic and garlic salt in a small soup pot until the rice turns a light brown color. Now it’s time to make your congee! Rinse your rice and let it sit at room temperature for ~30 minutes to dry out. Shred the chicken into small pieces and set aside. Once the chicken is cool enough to handle, remove the meat from the bones and add the bones back to the broth. Make sure to scoop away any impurities you see.Īfter the chicken is cooked, remove the chicken from the broth and let it cool for 10 minutes. Simmer for 30-40 minutes until the chicken is cooked through. Once the water boils, lower to a simmer and add the dried shrimp, onions, spice package, and the cans of chicken broth. Add water until it just covers the chicken. Tie the corners together to create your spice package Set aside. Combine coriander seeds and fennels seeds in the center of a 8×8 cheese cloth. 12/21/2023 0 Comments Lightroom classic vs photoshop![]() However, it is not the most popular module in Lightroom, and some would argue not the most important. It allows you to organize your photos and will increase your productivity. The most powerful aspect of Lightroom is the Library Module. These are also known as adjustment layers. ![]() This means when you save it and open it up again, you will then be able to tweak your tone curve adjustment layer and still have the original image intact.Īlthough this is a weakness of Adobe Photoshop, you do have the number one strength of Photoshop available… which is to use layers as you edit. If you had applied the Tone Curve adjustment to a separate layer and saved it as a PSD, then the pixels in the original layer are not altered. That’s because you applied the edit directly to the pixels of that image. Here are the consequences… if you decide later on that you made a mistake and you want to undo that tone curve adjustment, it is too late. This means you’ve “destructively” edited the image! Anytime you edit your image, without applying those edits on individual layers, you are in effect editing destructively.įor example, let’s say you add a Curves adjustment directly to the original image layer. One is to work destructively, and the other is to work non-destructively. There are two different ways you can edit your images in Photoshop. My suggestion is to start with the basics. ![]() When you first start using Photoshop, you may be overwhelmed by the vast amount of tools and information that you have to learn. Learn more about the Select Subject tool. But is it truly a one click and done s election tool? The answer may be surprising. This new tool is being described as being able to make automatic selections for you in one click. Every year Adobe comes out with new tools to help you achieve your creative vision faster.įor example, recently, Adobe Photoshop released a new tool called Select Subject. Then you have to consider the evolution of Photoshop. But, to have a deep understanding of how to use specific tools for a particular project, takes time and practice learning all the tools. Sure, you could learn the basics of how to do something and then be able to repeat what you learn to get the same results on another photo reasonably quickly. In fact, I would say not even in a couple weeks or months. There are so many tools and features that you can’t just learn Photoshop overnight. So if you are still reading this remember: A yellow lure on the end of your line may not look yellow to “fish eyes” and that yellow lure may not look yellow to “human eyes” in 25 feet of water. Humans are most sensitive in the red/orange wavelengths. Most gamefish, fresh or salt water, are most sensitive to the green/blue wavelengths. Evolution has tuned there eyes to be more sensitive to a particular range of wavelengths of light in order to survive. So this effect must be factored into a discussion of lure color.Īll animals don’t perceive light the same way. A blue lure will still look blue at the same depth (ever notice almost all deep sea animals are reddish in color not blue when brought to the surface). A red lure at the surface will look grey in deep water. Shorter wavelength colors like blue or purple will be absorbed last. Longer wavelength colors will be absorbed first, like red. So colors will change with depth in water. (duhhhah!) Water is better at absorbing light than air. Another factor is that fish live in water and we live in air. What we perceive as a color is what wavelength of light that is reflected back to our eyes. Second is the difference in the anatomy of a fishes eye and a humans eye. There are two important factors at work here. Break out those bright yellows again on full-moon nights, but switch to darker, mustard-yellow on a new moon or cloudy night. At sunrise or sunset, and in murky water, a bright yellow or chartreuse will get the most strikes. In broad daylight and clear water, a softer canary yellow or a yellow-over-white is the best choice. ![]() ![]() Yellow darters, yellow pencils, yellow needlefish, yellow Bombers, and yellow bucktails all work, as do yellow poppers, yellow bottles, and yellow soft plastics.Īs for which shade of yellow, let the water clarity and light be your guide. Many baitfish, like these alewives, cast a yellow sheen when the sun is low in the sky. A study performed at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science showed that a striper’s vision is sensitive to a wide range of colors from blue to red, but is most sensitive to yellow and chartreuse. Some believe that the vegetation and water in some areas put a yellow cast on the baitfish.Īll could be true, but a more likely explanation is that to striped bass, yellow simply stands out. Others say that all baitfish give off a yellow sheen when the sun is low in the sky at sunrise and sunset. Some believe it imitates the fins and colors of juvenile weakfish, a favorite food for striped bass. Surfcasters have different theories as to why yellow is so effective. Line scores add up as you keep doing tricks without crashing or without losing the line, which happens when the circular meter around your multiplier on the upper left corner of the screen runs out completely. You can also review basic instructions for various tricks by tapping on the arrow on the top right of the screen, hitting the topmost button, then going to How to at the bottom of the screen, which is where you can swipe left and right to jog your memory on everything from how to ride your board to how to ride onto a rail.Īside from Training, the other basic modes include Competition, which gives you 100 seconds to come up with the highest possible score, and Jam Session, which has no time limit, with the goal being to achieve the highest possible line score. You can also move forward and skip the computer demonstration so that you can try the tricks yourself, but we don’t see why you would want to do that, except if you’re replaying the same lesson multiple times in a row. But unlike other games where you may need to reinstall the app in order to redo the tutorial, this one allows you to replay the lessons at any time. Completing a lesson would turn it green and add a check mark, while those you haven’t will remain blue, with no check mark at the right.Īs those are just a few of the tricks you can perform in Touchgrind Skate 2, it can be a bit much to memorize all of them. The aforementioned kickflip is performed by swiping your front finger right, then lifting your back finger, while heelflips can be done by swiping your front finger left and lifting your back finger. Basically, you navigate the board by pressing two fingers on it, one in front and one in the back, and tricks are performed by various combinations of swipes, taps, and releases, with a specific order in which each command should take place.įor instance, performing an ollie would require you to lift the front finger, then, in quick succession, lift the back finger. You can learn these tricks by heading to My Backyard in the wheel at the bottom of the main screen, choosing Training, and picking any of the lessons that are available to select.Īll in all, there are 12 instructional videos, including several that cover multiple tricks - for example, choosing the Kickflip option won’t just teach you how to do a kickflip, but will also demonstrate how you can do a successful heelflip.Įach video starts with the computer demonstrating how the trick is performed and what controls you need to use.
